Airtel Hangout app launched to provide easy access to Airtel Wi-Fi hotspots

Airtel has announced the launch of a new Wi-Fi oriented app called Airtel Hangout which will allow you to connect to the wide range of Wi-Fi zones that have been set up by Airtel. This is currently limited to eight locations of Delhi/NCR but is expected to grow soon.

Once the app is downloaded, users will have to register using their mobile number. After this, the Airtel Wi-Fi zone near you will automatically appear on the app and you can start using Wi-Fi on your mobile device.

Airtel will only offer 25MB of free Wi-Fi usage per day and everything else will be deducted from your 3G/4G data plan that you're currently on. So this is not a "free" service like one would imagine.

The service is currently available in DLF Cyber Hub, Khalsa College, Gangaram Hospital, DLF Star Mall, DLF Grand Mall, Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and Khan Market.

Users can choose to automatically connect to an identified Airtel Wi-Fi network or even manually connect each time, depending on their preferences. This can be adjusted or changed from the Airtel Hangout settings.

Announcing the launch, Ajai Puri, Director - Market Operations, Bharti Airtel said, "We constantly innovate to find newer ways to enrich the lives of mobile users in the country. With the Airtel Hangout app, we aim to enable more & more users to experience superior and superfast mobile internet speeds by seamlessly latching on to our Wi-Fi zone and enjoy many more internet capabilities on their mobile device on the move".
